To create a business proposal template that will grab the customer's attention, identify your weaknesses. Then offer your buyer the right solution to alleviate it. What should a business proposal contain? In general, a business proposal aims to answer the following questions: Who are you and what is your business? The problem your buyer is facing The solution your company is offering to alleviate the problem How your company is effectively implementing this solution An estimate of the resources (time, money, etc.) that will be required to implement the solution above points. Formal Request


A formally requested business proposal is created when you respond to an official request for a business proposal. In this scenario, you know all of the requirements and have more (if not all) information about a prospect. All you have to do is write the offer for your buyer to rate. Informally requested business proposals will be written in the absence of an official call for proposals. A potential buyer is interested in your services and asks for a quote to evaluate them. An informally requested proposal requires a lot more research on your part.


These types of proposals are usually generated from informal discussions. They are not based on official requests, which are often more detailed. Unsolicited, think of this as a marketing brochure or cold email. Unsolicited business proposals often take a generic and unique approach to business proposals. They have no understanding of the buyer or their requirements. But with additional market research, customization, and identification of customer problems, you can find a bespoke solution; a solution based on your buyer's needs.

A clearly defined problem does two things: It shows the potential customer that you have done your homework instead of sending them a general pitch.
